Bio – Mara Marini

This is her story and she’s sticking to it

Mara hails from the great white north, but is happy to now be a settled, full-fledged, California resident. She studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (under the Princess Grace Scholarship), the York University in Toronto, and under many prestigious acting coaches.

 

Television:

Mara plays Brandi Maxxxx on PARKS AND RECREATION (NBC). She also recently guest starred on THE WHOLE TRUTH (ABC). She’s worked on CHELSEA LATELY (E!) with Guy Branum, Chuy Bravo, Chris Franjola & Sarah Colonna and she filmed a pilot for SpikeTV with Bryan Callen (The Hangover, MadTV). She has been seen in numerous commercials, both on-camera, and as voice talent.

Film:

Mara will be shooting the feature ALONGSIDE NIGHT (with Kevin Sorbo) in spring/summer 2012. She recently wrapped the comedy, ROCK & ROLL: THE MOVIE, with Darren Dowler & Vincent Corazza (24); MARRIED IN A YEAR with Patti Stanger; HEAD OVER SPURS IN LOVE with Daniel Bonjour & Jesse Johnson; and PSYCHOSOMATIKA with Jeff Dylan Graham and Peter Stickles (Shortbus). She can also be seen in the short DEADER LIVING THROUGH CHEMISTRY – featured on George Romero’s DIARY OF THE DEAD DVD.

Theatre:

Mara just closed a full run of the comedy ESTHER’S MOUSTACHE. Prior to that, she ended a fifteen week run of Bram Stoker’s DRACULA, directed by the critically-acclaimed director, Ken Sawyer, at The NoHo Theatre. She was in the original cast of THE FRIENDLY HOUR, written by the award-winning playwright, Tom Jacobson, and received an LA Weekly Award for Best Ensemble. She was also in the world premiere of BITCH, by Susan Rubin, at The Bootleg Theatre and originated the role of Candace, the “sweet-faced kewpie serving up a calming charm” in BEAUTY, BRAINS AND PERSONALITY at The Space Theatre.
